  • How often should my lawn be watered?

Deep water your lawn to saturate your soil. Weed and disease problems happen if you lightly water your soil. An hour of watering delivers an inch.

All systems are different and should be measured for proper delivery. During dry periods, water your lawn around 3 times a week.

Don't water every day unless the lawn has been freshly seeded. That is the only time to keep the seed bed moist.

  • Should my lawn be mowed at a specific height?

Mowing is commonly mismanaged. Different types of grass have different needs, but in general, lawns should be cut high in the summer and don't mow closer than 2 inches at a time.

Never cut off more than 1/3 of the grass blade at a time.

  • When should my lawn be seeded and aerated?

There are 4 seasonal changes a year in Northern Virginia. Primarily, we plant cool-season grass which builds root systems over the winter.

This means that fall is the best time to establish new turf grass.

  • What are the benefits of using products that are granulated?

Common spreader equipment can apply granulated products for an even application.

Granular turf fertilizer lasts longer than liquid fertilizer. There is little chance of the loss of material due to volatilization or leaching using professional granulated products.

  • How often do you provide services?

We provide 5 services during our annual contract. Each service is applied 45-60 days apart.
